Steps To Perfection

Step 1 – Shower

Hot water will open your pores and allow trapped dirt to escape. Slap on some scrub as well to deep cleanse your skin. Exfoliating your body once a day and your face once a week will slough away dead skin cells encouraging them to grow back plumper and fresher. While your feet are soft, scrub gently with a pumice stone. The trick to soft feet is to scrub little and often.

Step 2 – Shave

While your face is still warm from the shower lather up with a glycerine-based foam and shave in the direction of hair growth. Your face will still be puffy if you’ve been awake less than twenty minutes so take care or skip the shave and opt for masculine stubble.

Step 3 – Brush teeth

Don’t scrimp on this step. Brush in circular motions to fight cavities, use a minty mouthwash to neutralise your breath (try Listerine for a bit of a kick) and don’t forget to floss to lift deposits between cavities.

Step 4 – Deodorant

Use an anti-perspirant to combat unwanted smells. Also spritz on some aftershave behind the ears and in the elbow creases. These are your pulse points and will keep you smelling fresh all day. Avoid spraying alcohol-based aftershave directly onto the face after shaving.

Step 5 – Clothes

Don’t just put on the crumpled smelly clothes left on your bedroom floor, you need to make an impression. Brighten up an old outfit with accessories.

Step 6 – Hair

Hopefully you’ve washed and conditioned in the shower but if you don’t have time to style your hair, spritz on some water to re-active products left on from the day before to re-style. Use products to suit your hair type. Paul Mitchell does great products to suit different hair types. The tea tree wax is a life saver! If using straighteners, protect your hair from becoming brittle with a thermal spray.
